Trainings and Workshops
In addition to these foundational areas, I also provide targeted education on understanding and appropriately responding to various mental health diagnoses. This includes exploring the unique ways in which certain conditions may present in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and how traditional interventions may need to be adapted to suit their specific needs.
My primary objective is to empower professionals with the practical knowledge, tools, and empathetic perspective required to support this vulnerable population with dignity, compassion, and efficacy. I believe that when care providers are well-informed and properly equipped, they are better able to build trusting relationships, minimize harm, and foster environments that promote safety, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
It is essential for individuals who work with people with intellectual disabilities to have a deep understanding of how best to meet their needs—recognizing not just their challenges, but also their strengths, preferences, and individuality. Through this work, I aim to contribute to a broader culture of respect, person-centered care, and continuous learning within the field.
